Sinopsis / Synopsis

Para escapar de su vida pasada, Julia se muda a un nuevo edificio, donde todo y todos parecen conspirar contra ella. Una vecina anciana, Rosita, le presenta una realidad que intenta evitar: la maternidad, el matrimonio o la falta de ella. Es necesaria una decisión. ¿Puede una alianza entre las dos mujeres salvar a Julia de este limbo y finalmente dejar a esos fantasmas del pasado para que descansen o ya es demasiado tarde?

Seeking to escape her past life, Julia moves into a new building, where everything and everyone seem to plot against her. An elderly neighbour, Rosita, presents her with a reality she is trying to avoid: motherhood, marriage or a lack thereof. Each escape always arrives at an end and with it a decision is necessary. Can an alliance between the two women save Julia from this limbo and finally lay those ghosts of the past to rest? Or is it already too late?

AGUSTINA FIGUERAS (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA, 1987) es una escritora y directora italoargentina. Estudió cine en la prestigiosa Cinema University (FUC) en Argentina. Durante su posgrado, escribió y dirigió los cortometrajes "Un vals a mil tiempos", estrenada en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata en 2008, y "Boleros" (2009), que compitió en el Beijing Film Academy Film Festival. En Argentina trabajó como segunda ayudante de dirección para varios cineastas prestigiosos como Pablo Trapero ("Carancho", "White Elephant"), Marcelo Piñeyro ("Las viudas de los jueves") y Emmanuel Lubezki (Apple iPad Campaign). En 2013 se mudó a Londres (Reino Unido) para realizar una maestría en guión en la London College of Communication (UAL) y comenzó a trabajar en Pinball London como Production Manager, donde formó parte de varias producciones, entre ellas "Uncle Howard" (2016, seleccionada en Sundance, dirigida por Aaron Brookner) y "On the Milky Road" (2016, seleccionada en Venecia, dirigida por Emir Kusturica). Actualmente está desarrollando su primer largometraje con Pinball London, basado en su corto "Bora Bora".

AGUSTINA FIGUERAS (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA, 1987) is Italian-Argentinian writer and director. She studied filmmaking at the prestigious Cinema University’ (FUC) in Argentina. During her graduate course she wrote and directed the short films "Un vals a mil tiempos", premiered at Mar del Plata International Film Festival in 2008, and "Boleros" (2009), competing at the Beijing Film Academy Film Festival. In Argentina she worked as a 2nd AD for various prestigious filmmakers such as Pablo Trapero ("Carancho", "White Elephant"), Marcelo Piñeyro ("Las viudas de los jueves") and Emmanuel Lubezki (Apple iPad Campaign). In 2013 she moved to London (UK) to do a Masters in screenwriting at the London College of Communication (UAL) and started working at Pinball London as Production Manager, where she was part of various productions including "Uncle Howard" (2016, Sundance, Directed by Aaron Brookner) and "On the Milky Road" (2016, Venice, directed by Emir Kusturica). She is currently developing her first feature-length film with Pinball London based on her short "Bora Bora".
