Coming Ashore es un corto documental multimedia que recoge la cobertura gráfica realizada en la ruta migratoria del Mediterráneo Oriental por los periodistas Santi Palacios y Mikel Kona-te, combinando vídeo, fotografía y voz en off para mostrar el riesgo que afrontan miles de personas al tratar de alcanzar las costas europeas en busca de refugio, y cómo muchas de ellas pierden la vida en el intento.

Coming Ashore is a short multimedia documentary that gathers the graphic coverage on the Eas-tern Mediterranean migratory route by journalists Santi Palacios and Mikel Konate, combining video, photography and voice-over to show the risk that thousands of people face when trying to reach the European coasts in search of refuge, and how many of them lose lives in the at-tempt.

SANTI PALACIOS (Madrid, ESPAÑA, 1985) es un galardonado fotoperiodista. Centrado en la escena internacional, desde 2008 ha trabajado con agencias de noticias, medios de comunicación, compañías de producción audiovisual y ONG. Durante varios años ha sido colaborador habitual de The Associated Press y también ha colaborado con TIME Magazine, The New York Times, CNN, El País, Revista 5W o The Sunday Times, entre otros. Su trabajo ha sido publicado en los principales periódicos y revistas de todo el mundo y ha sido reconocido con numerosos premios, entre ellos: World Press Photo, Picture of the Year o el Premio Nacional de Fotoperiodismo de España 2015 y 2016. Es uno de los seis talentos de Europa seleccionados por el 6x6. Programa de talentos de la Fundación World Press Photo en 2018.

MIKEL KONATE (Madrid, ESPAÑA, 1982) es un videojournalista independiente que ha estado involucrado en la industria de los medios de comunicación desde 1999. Se convirtió en un camarógrafo de noticias en 2005 y comenzó a cubrir políticas, movimientos sociales. Desde 2014, su trabajo se ha centrado en los problemas de migración, crisis humanitarias y conflictos para los medios de comunicación, incluidos Reuters, The Associated Press, CNN y La Sexta, entre otros. Su material de archivo se ha utilizado en varios documentales, en particular los relacionados con la crisis migratoria.

SANTI PALACIOS (Madrid, SPAIN, 1985) is an award-winning photojournalist. Focused on the international scene, since 2008 he has worked with news agencies, media, audiovisual production companies and NGOs. For several years he has been a regular contributor to The Associated Press and has also collaborated with TIME Magazine, The New York Times, CNN, El País, 5W Magazine or The Sunday Times, among others. His work has been published in major newspapers and magazines around the world and has been recognized with numerous awards, including: World Press Photo, Picture of the Year or the National Photojournalism Award of Spain 2015 and 2016. It is one of the six talents from Europe selected by the 6x6. Talent program of the World Press Photo Foundation in 2018.

MIKEL KONATE (Madrid, ESPAÑA, 1982) is an independent videojournalist who has been involved in the media industry since 1999. He became a news cameraman in 2005 and began to cover politics, social movements. Since 2014, her work has focused on the problems of migration, humanitarian crises and conflicts for the media, including Reuters, The Associated Press, CNN and La Sexta, among others. Its archival material has been used in several documentaries, particularly those related to the migration crisis.
