En el campo siberiano, el matrimonio es tradicionalmente visto como la mayor felicidad alcanzable para una mujer. Pero Dorotchka, de 80 años, un babushka arquetípico, siempre ha permanecido solo. En la mesa de la cocina, ella contempla la vida, el amor, el arrepentimiento y la soledad, ¿se ha buscado a sí misma este destino? La película es el resultado de una película que se proyectó en el IDFA 2016 en muchos otros festivales internacionales de cine, Siberian Love, en la que la cineasta Olga Delane exploró los mismos puntos de vista sobre el amor y el matrimonio. Las bellas y estáticas imágenes de Dorotchka en y alrededor de su casa de madera, con el telón de fondo de un paisaje implacable en el que siempre hay mucho trabajo por hacer, nos recuerdan el siglo XIX. pinturas de la vida agrícola romántica. In the Siberian countryside, marriage is traditionally seen as the greatest achievable happiness for a woman. But the 80-year-old Dorotchka, an archetypal babushka, has always remained alone. At the kitchen table, she contemplates life, love, regret and loneliness—has she maybe brought this fate upon herself? The film is a spinoff of a film that screened at IDFA 2016 any many other international film festivals, Siberian Love, in which filmmaker Olga Delane explored the same views on love and marriage. The beautiful, static images of Dorotchka in and around her wooden house, against the backdrop of a relentless landscape in which there’s constant hard work to be done, are reminiscent of 19thcentury paintings of romanticized agricultural life. Wringing her hands at the kitchen table, Dorotchka speaks in short sentences peppered with expletives, making it clear that even women like her have their hearts broken. Stylized shots of rural life are combined with comical blackandwhite footage of Russian country weddings, folk dancing and singing: a promise of opportunities in a bygone era.

OLGA DELANE (Krasnokamensk, RUSIA,1977) es fotógrafa, editora y directora. Durante los últimos cinco años ha realizado varios viajes por Siberia para sus proyectos de fotografía, vídeo y cine. En 2016 tuvo un éxito internacional con su primer largometraje documental "Siberian Love", coproducido con Arte y Al Jazeera Documentary Channel. SL se proyectó en 30 festivales internacionales y se vendió a 10 estaciones de televisión internacionales.

OLGA DELANE (Krasnokamensk, RUSSIA,1977) is a photographer, editor and director. During the last five years she took several trips through Siberia for her photo, video and movie projects. In 2016 she had an international success with her first feature length documentary „Siberian Love“, co produced with Arte and Al Jazeera Documentary Channel. SL screened on ore then 30 international festivals and was sold to10 international TV stations.
