Sinopsis / Synopsis

A single parent, struggling for survival with her 5 year old, gets a job as a house help because of a watchman by faking her identity as a 'Pooja. Jaya and Manish, a young married couple also soon to be parents are happy with her work. Over the days, Jaya who is 6 months expectant while dealing with her unplanned pregnancy bonds with Pooja over her sweet pregnancy experiences. There comes an incident where Jaya gets an idea of Pooja faking her identity to be someone. Will Pooja ever be able to accept her original 'Identity'? And Jaya, who represents our society, will ever accept Pooja's 'Reality'?

Una madre soltera, que lucha por sobrevivir con su hijo de 5 años, consigue trabajo como asistenta doméstica gracias a un vigilante fingiendo su identidad como "Pooja". Jaya y Manish, un joven matrimonio que pronto serán padres, se alegran de su trabajo. Con el paso de los días, Jaya, que está embarazada de seis meses y tiene que hacer frente a un embarazo no planeado, establece lazos con Pooja por sus dulces experiencias durante el embarazo. Se produce un incidente en el que Jaya se da cuenta de que Pooja está fingiendo su identidad para ser otra persona. ¿Podrá Pooja aceptar algún día su "identidad" original? Y Jaya, que representa a nuestra sociedad, ¿aceptará algún día la "Realidad" de Pooja?

Sooraj Gunjal (Maharashtra, INDIA, 1988) es un ingeniero de software reconvertido en director de cine. Suraj comenzó su carrera cinematográfica con el montaje, ayudando a renombrados montadores y participando en sus películas, aclamadas por la crítica. Durante sus primeros años también trabajó como montador, supervisor de continuidad y montador asociado. Pinky Memsaab", un largometraje pakistaní, fue su primera oportunidad como montador independiente. Mientras trabajaba con artistas de tanto renombre, surgió en él el interés por el arte de contar historias, y así nació una hermosa película documental llamada "Aakhri safar" (El último viaje). Este primer documental suyo se basa en la vida de un fabricante de ataúdes y fue nominado en el Festival de Cine Indio de Nueva York, en el Festival Internacional de Documentales y en el Festival de Cortometrajes de Kerala. También imparte clases magistrales de montaje cinematográfico para aspirantes a montadores. Naam ("Identidad") es su primer cortometraje de ficción. Suraj está listo para presentar su primer largometraje.

Sooraj Gunjal (Maharashtra INDIA, 1988) a Software Engineer turned Filmmaker. Precisely a Film Editor & Director.Suraj started his filmmaking career with editing by assisting renowned film editors & being a part of their critically acclaimed films. During his early days he also worked as an on set editor, continuity supervisor & associate editor. A Pakistani feature film 'Pinky Memsaab', was his first break as an independent Editor. While working with such renowned artists around, the interest for the art of storytelling emerged in him too, thus came into being a beautiful documentary film named "Aakhri safar"(The Last Journey). This first documentary film of his is based on the life of a Coffin maker, which was nominated at New York Indian Film Festival, International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala. He also conducts master-class in film editing for aspiring editors. "Naam ( Identity)" being his first short fiction. Sooraj is ready to present his first feature film.
