Sinopsis / Synopsis

"Su traje es blanco y marrón y lleva un casco de cuatro kilos. Le tuvieron que sacar peso porque no lo soportaba. Se le caía la cabeza. Pero ahora no quiere que le saquen más porque está preciosa." Perdida en un mundo de adultos y con una agenda completa de actividades, Memi se prepara para ser la reina del carnaval.

"Her crown is so heavy, they had to remove weight from it. She couldn’t carry it. It would fall off her head. But now she doesn’t want anything else to be done with it because she looks so pretty." Lost in a world of grown-ups and trapped in her routine, Memi is torn between the glamour of the beauty pageant and her family’s pressure to become the queen of the carnival.

MANUEL ABRAMOVICH (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA, 28/11/1987) Estudió dirección de fotografía en la ENERC y realizó el Lab de Cine de la Universidad Di Tella. Trabaja como director y director de fotografía. Dirigió los cortos “Heladeras”, “Nubes”, “Mesa 17” y “La Reina”. Sus trabajos fueron seleccionados y exhibidos en varios festivales internacionales: IDFA, IndieLisboa, Documenta Madrid, Fribourg, BAFICI, Karlovy Vary, entre otros, y premiados por diversas instituciones (INCAA, Fondo Metropolitano de Cultura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Fondo Nacional de las Artes, Premio Georges Méliès). Actualmente está terminando su primer largometraje “Solèy”, seleccionado en la IDFA Summer School y subsidiado por el INCAA. En 2012, fue seleccionado en el Berlinale Talent Campus. En 2013, comenzó a desarrollar su nuevo proyecto “Salomón”, en el que combina cine, instalación y performance.

MANUEL ABRAMOVICH (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINE, 11/28/1987) He studied Cinematography at ENERC and attended the Film Lab of the Universidad Di Tella. He works as a documentary director and cinematographer. He has directed several short films. His work was selected at several festivals (IDFA, IndieLisboa, Documenta Madrid, Karlovy Vary, BAFICI, among others) and he´s currently completing his first documentary feature “Solèy”, selected at the IDFA Summer School 2012 and funded by INCAA. In 2012, he attended the Berlinale Talent Campus. In 2013 he started developing a new project called “Salomón”, in which he won a visual arts scholarship at the FNA - Conti.
