Sinopsis / Synopsis

El hijo de un minero asturiano viaja a Buenos Aires sin saber que, en paralelo, inicia otro viaje: el de la memoria. Allí descubre un suceso histórico de talla mundial que ocurrió al lado de su casa. Y en ninguna clase de Historia le contaron nada. El joven navega a ambos lados del océano persiguiendo la estela de aquella revolución que, si bien escuchó nombrar alguna vez a los ancianos de su pueblo natal, desconoce por completo.

A miner’s son travels to Buenos Aires ignoring that, at the same time, he begins another trip: the trip of the memory. Once there, he finds out a world-class historical event that happened near his hometown. None of his history classes never mentioned such events. Such events never were mentioned in the History classes. The young man navigates on both sides of the ocean chasing the tale of that revolution that he completely ignores, although he heard some stories from the elders of his native town.

SERGIO MONTERO FERNÁNDEZ (San Martín del Rey Aurelio, ESPAÑA, 1978). "Los labios apretados" es su ópera prima, para la que fue necesaria más de una década de viaje a ambos lados del Océano Atlántico en torno a la controvertida Comuna Asturiana de octubre de 1934. De familia minera, Sergio llega al cine a través de su trabajo como fotógrafo y documentalista. Realiza en 2007 el corto documental "Dora" y trabaja en documentales como “La farmacia” o “Diáspora”.

SERGIO MONTERO FERNÁNDEZ (San Martín del Rey Aurelio, SPAIN, 1978). "Los labios apretados" ("The Tight Lips") is his first feature-length film as a director, and it took ten years of travelling both sides of the Atlantic Ocean to be concluded. From a miner-family, Sergio starts his filmmaking carrer as photographer and documentalist. He shoot the documentary short film "Dora" and worked in documentaries like "La farmacia" and "Diáspora".
