Se dice que su nombre proviene de los marineros que al regresar de alta mar divisaban la primera tierra… los Picos de Europa. Continuas paradojas visuales que nos sorprenden a cada momento, nos muestran la principal característica natural de estas montañas y sus comarcas aledañas: una enorme biodiversidad. Gigantes pétreos que contemplan al hombre, testigos también de su Historia y su cultura.
