Sinopsis / Synopsis

A Selma le regalan una gallina viva por su sexto cumpleaños. Cuando se da cuenta que van a sacrificarla para alimentar a la familia, Selma decide salvarla y liberarla, sin ser consciente de las consecuencias que este acto provocará. Su madre se convertirá en el objetivo de un francotirador al intentar recuperar la gallina... Sarajevo, 1993.

As a present for her 6th birthday, Selma gets a live chicken. When she realises the animal is going to be killed to feed the family, she decides to save it and set it free, unaware of the high stakes such action will lead to. While trying to bring back the missing chicken, Selma's mum becomes the target of a sniper shoot. It's Sarajevo, year running 1993.

UNA GUNJAK (Sarajevo, BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA, 15/07/1986) Directora y montadora afincada en Londres. Estudió cine en la Universidad de Turín y edición en la National Film and TV School de Reino Unido. Los trabajos de montaje de Una han sido proyectados en los festivales más prestigiosos del mundo como Cannes, Hotdocs, TIFF y Colchester. “Good Night” ganó Mejor montaje en los BAFTA . The Chicken, ganadora del Robert Bosch Film Prize, ha sido seleccionada en la Semana de la Crítica en el Festival de Cannes, 2014.

UNA GUNJAK (Sarajevo, BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA, 07/15/1986) London based director and editor. In her previous lives she studied Film in at the University of Torino and Editing at the National Film and TV School in UK, where she graduted with an MA. Una's editing work was screened on the world's most prestegious festival screens, from Cannes Cinefondation, to HotDocs and TIFF. The BAFTA nominted “Good Night” won her the Best Editing Award, at the Colchester Film Festival, awarded to her by Terry Rawlings. Una's short film “The Chicken” , a winner of the Robert Bosch Film Prize, is selected for the Critic's Week at the Cannes Film Festival 2014.
