Sinopsis / Synopsis

A través de un objeto artesanal, el documental nos guía por un día en la vida de seis personajes del campo de refugiados de Smara, al sur de Argelia. El pasado, presente y futuro de un pueblo sin tierra que quiere que sus palabras sean escuchadas por el mundo.

A craft object guides us through a day in the lives of six characters in Smara, a refugee camp in southern Algeria. The past, present and future of a people without land who wants his words heard around the world.

Biofilmografia / Biofilmography

FANY DE LA CHICA (Jaén, 28/12/84) Empezó su carrera en Málaga donde estudió la licenciatura de Comunicación Audiovisual. Una vez terminados sus estudios se trasladó a Barcelona para cursar dirección de fotografía en el Centro de Estudios Cinematográficos de Cataluña. Fue allí donde dirigió varios cortometrajes en 16mm y debutó en el mundo del documental con "Viaje de ida y vuelta". Este cortometraje rodado en 35mm fue subvencionado por el Instituto de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España (ICAA), Candidato a los Goya 2010 y emitido en Televisión Española y seleccionado en otros tantos festivales. En la actualidad vive en Londres donde ha terminado el Máster en documental en la Royal Holloway University, donde recibió el prestigioso "One World Media funding" para rodar su proyecto final en Camboya "Ratita". Además ha trabajado en Future Films como Runner y en varios anuncios corporativos (IBM, Sony Bloggie...) como realizadora con la empresa Ground Up Media. Además sigue trabajando en otros proyectos documentales (Tierra de olivos e Historias de Palestina) y como freelance en Londres.

FANY DE LA CHICA (Jaén, Spain, 28/12/84) She started her career in Barcelona, where she studied Photography Direction in the Centre of Cinematographic Studies of Catalonia, and where she directed her first documentary film “Round Trip”. It was filmed in a refugee camp in Western Sahara and Andalusia. It was funded by the Institute of the Arts and Cinematographic Sciences in Spain (ICAA), pre-selected for the Goya Awards 2010 and broadcast on public Spanish television TV2. In London she was working in Future Films whilst finishing her studies in MA Documentary Practice at Royal Holloway University. Here she received the prestigious One World Media funding for the film “The visit”, a documentary in Cambodia that is still in post-production. In the meantime she is freelance in the UK working on other documentary projects (Stories from Palestine, Land of olive trees...) and in corporate videos with Ground Up Media (IBM, Sony Bloggie...)
