Sinopsis / Synopsis

Muy por encima del Círculo Polar Ártico, en lo profundo del Valle de Torne, en un pequeño pueblo llamado Isopikkujärvi, vive un solitario Maahianen (un guardián de la tierra en el folclore del valle de Torne) llamado Pikku Iso. Debido a su deber de proteger, Pikku se ha quedado cuando todos los demás se han ido. Pikku anhela un compañero en la vida y un día decide inscribirse en un sitio de citas por Internet. Poco después, se dirige a la primera cita en un municipio vecino donde pronto tendrá que escapar de una cita con una mujer alegre con planes de matrimonio de largo alcance. La siguiente es una cita en el extremo sur con una mujer alienígena que intenta quedar embarazada. Su relación pronto termina cuando Pikku resulta ser infértil. Destinado a nunca encontrar el amor, Pikku decide terminar su vida en el río Torne. Pero en el puente, Pikku se encuentra con una novia fantasma que termina dándole una nueva esperanza de vida.

Far above the Arctic Circle, deep in the Torne Valley, in a small village called Isopikkujärvi, lives a lonely Maahianen (a guardian of land in the Torne valley folklore) named Pikku Iso. Because of his duty to guard, Pikku has stayed when everyone else has moved away. Pikku longs for a companion in life and one day he decides to sign up for an internet dating site. Shortly thereafter he is on his way to the first date in a neighbouring municipality where he soon has to escape a date with a perky woman with far-reaching marriage plans. Next up is a date in the far south with an alien woman intent on getting pregnant. Their relationship soon ends as Pikku turns out to be infertile. Destined to never find love, Pikku decides to end his life in the Torne river. But on the bridge, Pikku meets a ghost bride that end up giving him new hope for life.

MAGNUS FREDRIKSSON (Kiruna, SUECIA, 1977). Magnus dirigió su primer cortometraje animado, The Red Shoe, en 2005. Desde entonces, ha realizado más de 30 cortometrajes. Kaisa y Harax: the moose painting(2005) se proyectó en competición en el Annecy International Animation Festival. Lukas' Dad is not a rabbit (2008) ganó el primer premio en la categoría infantil en Northern Character en Murmansk. Magnus también ha sido galardonado con The Film Kick, el premio Rubus Arcticus, el premio Irma y Einar Forseth, y Kiruna allmänkulturella stipendie.
