Desde el asilo, Alfredo escribe los recuerdos de lo que hubiese sido una vida gris y mediocre de no ser por un encuentro fortuito con una mujer que le hace replantearse el principio fundamental de su vida: es imposible ser feliz.

From the asylum , Alfredo writes the memories of what has been a grey and sadness life, except for a incidental meeting with a woman that makes him rethinking the fundamental principle of his life: be happy is impossible.
