Steven Subotnick es un cineasta de animación experimental.  Realiza sus películas utilizando imágenes variadas -desde dibujos animados a pura abstracción textural- y un diseño de sonido cuidadosamente estructurado. Ha recibido importantes subvenciones y becas, como la Guggenheim Fellowship, la LEF Fellowship y la AFI Fellowship.  Sus películas se han proyectado en festivales, galerías, museos y exposiciones comisariadas.  Steven enseña animación en la Escuela de Diseño de Rhode Island.

Steven Subotnick is an experimental animation filmmaker.  He makes his films using varied imagery – from cartoon to pure textural abstraction - and carefully structured sound design. He is the recipient of major grants and fellowships, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, an LEF Fellowship, and an AFI Fellowship.  His films have screened in festivals, galleries, museums, and curated shows.  Steven teaches animation at Rhode Island School of Design.
