Sinopsis / Synopsis

Una reportera ambicioso sigue un camino oscuro hacia el éxito. Desconocido para ella, este camino la lleva a una confrontación con su abuela. Anchorwoman explora el sistema de medios de comunicación y cómo afecta nuestras vidas. Esta exploración se presenta a través de los ojos de estas dos mujeres, que han servido y nutrido el sistema.

An ambitious reporter follows a dark path towards success. Unknown to her, this path leads her to a life changing confrontation with her grandmother. This film, Anchorwoman, explores the mass media system and how it affects our lives. This exploration is presented through the eyes of these two women, who have served and nurtured the system.

IOANNIS MONASTIROPOULOS (GRECIA, 1984) es director, guionista y actor. Inicialmente estudió Ingeniería Mecánica en el Instituto Tecnológico Educativo de Serres, una ciudad en el norte de Grecia. Después de graduarse, decidió estudiar drama en la escuela de teatro Iakovos Kampanellis en Atenas. Se graduó 4 años después y comenzó a trabajar en el teatro, pero evolucionó rápidamente para convertirse en un actor de cine. Su necesidad de expresarse a través de las palabras lo llevó a estudiar escritura de guiones, lo que resultó en la escritura de tres guiones de cortometrajes y un guión de largometrajes. Continuó estudiando técnicas de cine y, como resultado, filmó uno de sus propios cortometrajes ‘Anchorwoman’.

IOANNIS MONASTIROPOULOS (GREECE, 1984) is a director, screenwriter and actor. He initially studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technological Educational Institute of Serres, a town in Northern Greece. After graduating, he decided to study drama at Iakovos Kampanellis drama school in Athens. He graduated 4 years later and he started working in the theatre but quickly evolved to become a screen actor. His need to express himself through words led him to study script writing which resulted in writing three short film scripts and one feature film script. He continued studying film techniques and as a result he shot one of his own short films ‘‘Anchorwoman’’.
