Sinopsis / Synopsis

Esperanza, una joven con un punto de vista extremadamente pesimista sobre la vida, vuelve a trabajar el lunes por la mañana después de pasar el fin de semana de borrachera. Al no verla en condiciones de trabajar, sus compañeros intervienen para tratar de convencerla de que cambie sus malas costumbres. Pero Esperanza no está para eso. Con un tono duro y amargo, la película ofrece una mirada para aquellos cuya vida cotidiana es una farsa sin sentido y una carga insoportable.

Esperanza, a young woman with an extremely pessimistic outlook on life, returns to work on Monday morning after a weekend of binge drinking. Realizing she's in no shape to work, her co-workers intervene with the aim of convincing her to change her ways. But Esperanza is having none of it. Stark and bitter in tone, this film offers a glimpse into the perspective of those for whom everyday life has turned into a senseless farce and an unbearable burden.

ALFRED GIANCARLI (Nueva York, EEUU, 1982). Ha sido profesor de inglés, editor de fotos, fotógrafo de prensa, cineasta, camarero y nini. Con una licenciatura en cine de la Universidad Fairleigh Dickinson (Madison, Nueva Jersey) y una maestría en periodismo de la Universidad de Complutense de Madird, Alfred regresó a la cinematografía después de una larga ausencia en 2014 con el cortometraje Mi mujer ya no está con nosotros. En 2015, escribió y dirigió No te desesperes, un corto de terror que fue aclamado por la crítica y se estrenó en el Festival de Cine de la revista HorrorHound. Apurar cielos pretendo es su último proyecto.

ALFRED GIANCARLI (New York, USA, 1982). He has been an English teacher, photo editor, press photographer, filmmaker, waiter and slacker. With a bachelor in Filmmaking from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a master's in Journalism from Universidad de Complutense de Madrid, Alfred returned to filmmaking after a long absence in 2014 with the short film My Wife Is no Longer with Us. In 2015, he wrote and directed Don't Despair, a critically acclaimed indie horror darling which premiered at the HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival. Apurar cielos pretendo is his latest short film.
