RANIA M. TAWFIK (Beirut, Líbano, 1981) es una cineasta iraquí residiendo en Copenhague. Su película de graduación del National Film School of Denmark, “Una ligera brisa” fue mejor cortometraje en el Gulf Film Festival. "La noche eterna", documental experimental sobre un músico ciego, obtuvo el Silver New Horizon Award en Al Jazeera International Documentary Festival. Rania está desarrollando en la actualidad varios proyectos documentales.

LAILA HOTAIT (Madrid, 1980) es una cineasta y artista sonora hispano libanesa. Dra. en Comunicación Audiovisual por la Carlos III de Madrid. Su primer largometraje documental Crayons of Askalan (2011), fue presentado en numerosos festivales como Doha Tribeca Fim Festival, Hot Docs y Docs DF, entre otros. Su trabajo ha sido apoyado por el Sundance Documentary Institute, Arab Fund for Arts and Culture, Screen Institute Beirut o Berlinale Talent Campus. En 2011 fue elegida como talento emergente por el CPH Dox Lab. En la actualidad enseña producción audiovisual en el Tecnológico de Monterrey (México) y prepara su siguiente largometraje.

RANIA M. TAWFIK (Beirut, Lebanon, 1981) is an award winning Iraqi film director living in Copenhagen. Rania’s graduation film from The National Film School of Denmark, “A light Breeze” was awarded Best Short Film at Gulf Film Festival. "The Eternal Night", her experimental documentary about a blind musician, was awarded the Silver New Horizon Award at Al Jazeera International Documentary Festival. Rania is currently developing several documentary film projects.

LAILA HOTAIT (Madrid, Spain, 1980) is an award winning Spanish-Lebanese film director and sound artist. Her first feature documentary, Crayons of Askalan (2011), premiered at Doha Tribeca Fim festival and Hot Docs among other festivals. Her work has been supported by Sundance Documentary Institute, Arab Fund for Arts and Culture, Screen Institute Beirut & Berlinale Talent Campus among others. In 2011 she was chosen as an international emerging talent by the CPH Dox Lab. Laila is currently in development of her next feature film.
