Sinopsis / Synopsis

Con mucha emoción y cierta nostalgia hacia unos paisajes vividos en la infancia, y cuya degradación es imparable ante la construcción desmesurada, el pintor murciano Pedro Serna sigue recreándolos a través de sus acuarelas. “El último paisajista” representa un acercamiento a este pintor, a su inquebrantable vocación pictórica y, sobre todo, a la tenaz y decidida lucha de un hombre para encontrar y transmitir lo más poético e íntimo del paisaje a través de su obra.

With many feelings of nostalgia, these landscapes of our childhood, whose degradation is inevitable in the face of the booming construction era, the murcian artist Pedro Serna recreates these landscapes through his water colours. “The Last Landscape Painter” represents a bond between this artist and his unshakable calling to the landscape and his overall tenacity in his fight to discover and show the poetic and intimate side of the landscape in his works.

GONZALO BALLESTER (Murcia, 1982). Realizador de cortometrajes y documentales mayormente de temática social, destacando su primer corto Mimoune (2006, 11’), ganador de 15 premios y seleccionado en casi un centenar de festivales internacionales. En 2003 viaja a Siena con una beca de estudios y graba en Venecia el material para La Serenissima (2006, 30’), cortometraje seleccionado en el Festival de Málaga y nominado como mejor corto documental en los premios Goya de 2007. A finales de 2005 estudia un curso de cine en el European Film College, Dinamarca. En 2006 es seleccionado para participar en el Premio de la Juventud en el Festival de Cannes. En 2009 rueda su primer largo documental. From 2002 he has filmed several short movies and documentaries, as the outstanding Mimoune (2006, 11’), winner of 15 awards in international film festivals and selected at more than 80. In 2003 he was awarded a scholarship to Siena; he often travelled to Venice and shot the material for La Serenissima (2006, 30’) documentary selected in the official competition of Malaga Film Festival and nominated best short documentary in Goya awards 2007. In mid-2005 left Spain to study cinema in the European Film College, in Denmark. In 2006 participated in the “Prix de la Jeunesse”, Cannes Film Festival.
