): El legendario cantante Daniel Santos (Ektor Rivera) está retirado en Ocala, Florida, y escribe un libro sobre su vida cuando decide emprender una última gira por Suramérica. Su llegada a la primera ciudad es opacada por dos jóvenes y exitosas súper estrellas: Marcela (Isel Rodríguez), la sensación del merengue, y Miguel-Miguel (Obie Bermúdez), el más reciente fenómeno de la salsa romántica. La película narra los esfuerzos de Daniel por ganarse el público y ser nuevamente reconocido en un mundo que insiste en marginarlo y olvidarlo.

Legendary singer Daniel Santos (Ektor Rivera) is retired in Ocala, Florida, and writes a book about his life, when he decides to undertake one last tour of South America. His arrival in the first city is overshadowed by two young and successful superstars: merengue sensation Marcela (Isel Rodríguez), and Miguel-Miguel (Obie Bermúdez), the latest romantic salsa phenomenon. The film recounts Daniel's efforts to win the audience over and be acclaimed once again in a world that wants to marginalize and forget him.

DOUGLAS PEDRO SÁNCHEZ (San Juan, PUERTO RICO; 1952) Un Fulbright Scholar, Douglas estudió cine y literatura en Brown, RISD, NYU y UNAM, recibió un Premio Especial de la Academia Mexicana por su primer largometraje, CUALQUIER COSA, y más tarde estudió y practicó derecho mientras escribía y desarrollaba SOL DE MEDIANOCHE y LA ÚLTIMA GIRA.

DOUGLAS PEDRO SÁNCHEZ (San Juan, PUERTO RICO; 1952) A Fulbright Scholar, Douglas studied film and literature at Brown, RISD, NYU, and UNAM, received a Mexican Academy Special Award for his first feature, CUALQUIER COSA (Any Given Thing), and studied and practiced law while writing and developing SOL DE MEDIANOCHE and LA ÚLTIMA GIRA.
