Sinopsis / Synopsis

En noviembre de 1974, la directora de un pequeño colegio santiaguino, fue secuestrada y conducida a un centro de detención por agentes del Estado chileno, quienes la acusaron de pertenecer al Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria (MIR). Su relato, más que recordar su paso por un recinto clandestino, se centra en la imposibilidad de narrar una vivencia de este tipo.

In November 1974, the Principal of a small school in Santiago was kidnapped and taken to a detention centre by State agents, who accused her of belonging to the Revolutionary Left Movement (MIR). Her account, more than a memory of her stay in a clandestine centre, is focused on the impossibility of narrating an experience like this.

CAROLINA ASTUDILLO (Santiago de Chile, Chile, 20/06/1975) Periodista y realizadora. Diplomada en Estudios de Cine por la Universidad Católica de Chile y máster en Documental Creativo por la Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB). Su trabajo se centra en la investigación histórica, las posibilidades del material de archivo y el documental, teniendo como punto de referencia a las mujeres y su relación con la memoria política. De monstruos y faldas (2008) y Lo indecible (2012) son sus trabajos hasta la fecha.

CAROLINA ASTUDILLO (Santiago de Chile, Chile, 06/20/1975) Degree in Social Communication from the University of Santiago de Chile. Postgraduate Diploma in Film Studies from the Catholic University of Chile and MA in Creative Documentary from the Autonoma University of Barcelona (UAB). Carolina has always been inspired by women and their relationship to political struggle and collective memory working through historical research and found-footage under a poetical approach. Of Monsters and Skirts (2008) and The Unspeakable (2012) are her documentaries to date.
