El documental narra las vicisitudes que aquejaron al general Álvarez de Castro - heroico defensor de Gerona durante la invasión napoleónica - durante la enfermedad y cautiverio que precedieron a su muerte, en base al ‘Manifiesto’ escrito por el que fuera su edecán, el capitán Francisco de Satué.

The documentary explores the vicissitudes that afflicted the general Alvarez de Castro, a heroic defender of Gerona; focusing on the Napoleonic invasion, his illness and captivity preceding his death. The film is based on a 'Manifesto' written by his assistant, Captain Francisco de Satué.

ROBERT FIGUERAS (Vilabertran, 1975) está trabajando actualmente en ‘Panzer Chocolate‘, el primer largometraje Transmedia de España. En 2010 dirigió ‘Los últimos días del General Álvarez de Castro’, y en 2009 co-Dirigió ‘Simonet, el Terror del Francés’. Su primer cortometraje, ‘Citizen Welles’, ganó varios premios en 2004. Durante sus 6 años viviendo en Inglaterra (2001-2006) dirigió varios proyectos: ‘D.I.Y‘; el making of de ‘Alas Agnes‘, de los ‘Mystery Jets’; los videos musicales ‘Kissing‘, ‘Moving‘ y ‘Breaking in‘; y el anuncio ‘Enough’. Además trabajó en productoras como Partizan, Black Dog Films, Flynn Productions, @Radical.Media… con gente como Michael Apted, Madonna, Linda Hamilton, Jonas Akerlun y Gary Sinyor. Robert es co-fundador de Filmutea (2005), graduado por la New York Film Academy London (2004), y Licenciado y Master en Administración de Empresas por ESADE (93-98)

ROBERT FIGUERAS (Vilabertran, 1975) is currently working on ‘Panzer Chocolate’, the first Spanish Transmedia feature film. In 2010 he directed ‘The last days of General Alvarez de Castro’, and in 2009 he co-directed ‘Simonet, the Terror of the French’. His first short film, ‘Citizen Welles’, won several awards in 2004. During his 6 years living in the UK (2001-2006) he directed several projects: ‘D.I.Y‘; the making of ‘Alas Agnes‘, for the ‘Mystery Jets’; the music videos ‘Kissing', ‘Moving' and ‘Breaking in'; and the commercial ‘Enough’. Moreover, he worked in several production companies, including Partizan, Black Dog Films, Flynn Productions, @Radical.Media… with people like Michael Apted, Madonna, Linda Hamilton, Jonas Akerlun and Gary Sinyor. Robert is the co-founder of Filmutea (2005); he completed the 1 year program from the New York Film Academy London (2004); and he holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master in Business Administration by ESADE (93-98)
