¿Qué sucede después de que un niño haya escapado de la esclavitud? ¿Cómo se reconstruye una infancia rota? "Niños esclavos. La puerta de atrás" documenta el rescate, la rehabilitación y la devolución a sus familias de niños que han sido víctima de la trata de personas en África Occidental, la región con mayor índice de explotación infantil del planeta.

What happens after a slave child escapes? How can a shattered childhood be put back together? "Slave children. The back door" documents how 21st-century children victim of human trafficking are returned to society: from the time they are rescued from slavery to the moment they are returned to their families. There is a back door that thousands of West African children find to cross through in the region of the world with the highest rate of child trafficking.

ANA PALACIOS (Zaragoza, ESPAÑA, 1972) es periodista y fotógrafa. Después de más de quince años trabajando en la producción de cine americano, cambia radicalmente su vida y emprende el camino profesional de la fotografía documental vinculada a los Derechos Humanos en África subsahariana, con el único objetivo de mostrar realidades invisibles y sensibilizar a quien quiera mirar a este lado. Sus reportajes han sido publicados en medios de todo el mundo. Galardonada con diferentes premios internacionales, su obra se ha expuesto en los cinco continentes y forma parte de colecciones públicas y privadas. Ha publicado tres libros y este el primer documental que dirige.

ANA PALACIOS (Zaragoza, SPAIN, 1972) is a Spanish journalist and documentary photographer interested in Human Rights issues, focusing in Sub-Saharan Africa territories. Her work has been exhibited, awarder and published worldwide (Al Jazeera, Stern, Der Spiegel The Guardian, 6 Mois, Days Japan, Terra Mater, Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, El País, Tiempo,...). She has published three books: "Albino" about the pledge of the albinos in Tanzania, "Art in Movement", about the art as a social change in Uganda, and "Slave children. The back door" about the reinsertion of trafficked children in West Africa, which is also an exhibition and a book. This is her first short film as a director.
