Sinopsis / Synopsis

La triste y emotiva historia de un refugiado adolescente de origen africano, Sammi, cuya vida cotidiana está basada en episodios de racismo y rechazo. Luchando por adaptarse a su nueva vida, encontrará una oportunidad para expresarse que congelará sus miedos y se convertirá en el arma más poderosa contra sus agresores.

Unfortunately a very relevant and emotional story of a teenage African refugee, Sammi, whose daily life is dominated by scenes of racism and rejection. Struggling to adapt to his new life, an opportunity for self-expression, which initially causes him to freeze with fear, is turned into the most powerful weapon against his bullies.

Caleb Shaffer cursó estudios de Cine y Producción audiovisual en la Northern Film School de Leeds. Se graduó en 2008, a partir de este momento trabajará como productor para un amplio número de proyectos, recibiendo financiación de numerosas agencias como la Scottish Screen, el UK Film Council y las Film commissions de Italia y Grecia. Ha aparecido en los créditos de Anti Clockwise y Behind the Curtain; que han sido proyectados en pasadas ediciones de la Berlinale. Caleb también ha escrito y adaptado un gran número de proyectos como Letters Home o The Dogs basado en un relato corto del escritor Hanif Qureshi. Su debut como director lo hará con el cortometraje Finding Polish. A partir de este momento comienza a trabajar con la Picture Lock Productions donde junto a Steven Wyatt dirigirá y producirá The Dormroom, entre otra gran variedad de proyectos. El reconocido artista internacional de spoken word Suli Breaks ha colaborado escribiendo un tema para One Word.

Caleb Shaffer gained a BA and MA in Film and Moving Image Production at the Northern Film School in Leeds. Graduating in 2008 he has since made wide range of film projects as a Producer; having been funded by numerous screen agencies which include Scottish Screen, the UK Film Council and the Italian and Greek Film commissions, credits include 'Anti Clockwise' and 'Behind the Curtain'; the former which screen at Berlinale Film Festival. Caleb has also written and adapted a number of projects for the screen such as 'Letters Home' and 'The Dogs' based off the short story by acclaimed writer Hanif Qureshi. He made his Directorial debut on short film Film 'Finding Polish' and has since moved on to forming production company Picture Lock Productions with Steven Wyatt, where he Directed and Produced 'The Dormroom' amongst a vast array of other projects for internationally renowned spoken word artist Suli Breaks whom he has recently collaborated in writing a piece for short film 'One Word'.
