Sinopsis / Synopsis

El recuperado código ancestral del Kanun, que había regido la vida rural durante cinco siglos de ocupación extranjera en Albania, ha vuelto a arruinar la vida de muchas familias albanesas desde el colapso del comunismo. Estas leyes populares que incluyen el derecho a matar por vengar un asesinato anterior ha dejado muchas familias confinadas en sus casas, por temor a venganzas de sangre.

The centuries-old custom of blood feuds has started blighting lives since the collapse of communism in Albania, where many families live locked down in their houses in fear of blood vengeance. The ancestral code of Kanun include the right to murder to avenge an earlier killing: “blood must be paid with blood”.

ROSER CORELLA (Barcelona, 19/11/1978) Documentalista independiente, inició su carrera audiovisual como realizadora de reportajes para televisión hasta que pasó a producir sus propios proyectos. Su primer corto documental “Hombre máquina” tuvo una gran acogida en festivales internacionales, recibiendo más de veinte premios, como CANAL+ Award at the Women's Film Festival of Creteil (Francia) y First place for “Long-Form Multimedia Documentary” at Picture of the Year International (USA). Su interés por el género documental como testimonio de las tensiones y paradojas inherentes al medio, la han llevado a viajar por todo el mundo en busca de historias personales que reflejen temas globales.

ROSER CORELLA (Barcelona, SPAIN, 11/19/1978) Independent documentary filmmaker, began her career making TV reports until she started producing her own projects. Her first short documentary "Machine man" has enjoyed global success, appearing in hundreds of film festival worldwide and winning over twenty awards, including CANAL + Award at the Women's Film Festival of Creteil (France) and First place for "Long-Form Multimedia Documentary" at Picture of the Year International (USA). Her interest in documentary genre as testimony of the medium’s inherent tensions and paradoxes, has led her all around the world looking for personal stories that reflect global issues.
