En este documental de un minuto, Arjan Brentjes da un paso lateral de su trabajo de animación en curso, para contar una pequeña historia familiar. En 1940 Truus vive en Rotterdam con su madre Aartje. En 2019, su nieto Arjan se pregunta cómo serán los primeros días soleados de mayo de 1940 para ellos. Él hace una reconstrucción y concluye que hay poco que pueda agregar.

In this one-minute documentary Arjan Brentjes takes a side step from his ongoing animation work to tell a little family story. In 1940 Truus lives in Rotterdam with her mother Aartje. In 2019, her grandson Arjan wonders what the first sunny days of May 1940 look like for them. He makes a reconstruction and concludes that there’s little he can add to it.

ARJAN BRENTJES (Gorinchem, PAÍSES BAJOS, 1971). Comenzó su vida profesional como pintor, y en 2008 cambió a video. Desde 2010 se dedica a la realización de cortometrajes, los últimos años en su mayoría animación. Arjan a menudo lleva al espectador a un estilo de película del pasado, para mirar nuestro futuro desde allí. De este modo, comentando ingeniosamente el desarrollo de nuestra sociedad tecnológica y la altanería del hombre.

ARJAN BRENTJES (Gorinchem, NETHERLANDS, 1971). He started his professional life as a painter, and in 2008 he switched to moving images. Since 2010 he is dedicated to making short film, the last years mostly animation. Arjan often takes the viewer back to a movie style from the past, to look at our future from there. Thereby wittily commenting on the development of our technological society and the haughtiness of man.
