"Tauromaquia" presenta una perspectiva inédita sobre las corridas de toros: la experiencia del toro como individuo sensible. Grabado en España durante tres años, muestra las consecuencias para los animales que pisan la plaza y empatiza con ellos a través de sus expresiones faciales, lenguaje corporal y reacciones durante la lidia.

"Tauromachy" offers us a unique perspective on bullfighting: the experience of the bull as a sentient being. Filmed in Spain over the course of three years, it shows the consequences for the animals that step into the arena, empathising with them through their facial expressions, body language and reactions.

JAIME ALEKOS (Madrid, SPAIN, 1985) es un reconocido periodista independiente especializado en derechos humanos y maltrato animal. En 2018 recibió un Premio a la Excelencia en la 75 edición del certamen Picture of the Year International, por su investigación sobre las torturas de la policía húngara a migrantes. Su cobertura de los desahucios durante la crisis financiera aparece en "Frágil Equilibrio", ganador del Goya a la Mejor Película Documental 2017. Sus reportajes sobre maltrato animal en España han sido publicados en prácticamente todos los medios españoles y han sido referenciados en el extranjero por The Associated Press, Politico y The Guardian, entre otros.

JAIME ALEKOS (Madrid, ESPAÑA, 1985) is an award-winning independent journalist specialized in human rights and animal abuse. In 2018 he was awarded with an Award of Excellence in the 75th edition of the Picture of the Year International Awards. His coverage of the evictions during the financial crisis is featured in Frágil Equilibrio, winner of the Best Documentary Film award at the Goya Awards 2017. His work about animal abuse in Spain has been published in almost every Spanish media and has been referenced overseas by The Associated Press, Politico and The Guardian, among others.
