Sinopsis / Synopsis

‘Un lugar diferente’ muestra el problema medioambiental y de salud pública de la ciudad de Huelva. Décadas de polución y vertidos químicos han originado unos niveles de mortalidad muy elevados. Además, a pocos metros de la ciudad se levanta una extensión blanca, yerma y radiactiva: la balsa de fosfoyesos.

‘A different place’ shows the serious environmental and public health problem in Huelva, a city in the south of Spain. Decades of pollution and chemical waste have led to extremely high mortality rates. Moreover, just a few metres away from the city, a white, radioactive area is growing: the phosphogypsum landfill.

RAFAEL GONZALEZ ( Huelva, 01/06/1978 ) Empezó su carrera audiovisual como periodista en la cadena de noticias CNN+. Durante cuatro años estuvo cubriendo información de política nacional en España pero su interés por contar las cosas de forma más pausada le llevó a adentrarse en el mundo del documental. Su primera oportunidad fue en Guinea Bissau donde realizó un reportaje documental para la Agencia de Cooperación Exterior. Una experiencia que repitió en Camboya y Laos. Posteriormente, ya integrado en el equipo de la productora 360Globalmedia dirigió el documental “El miedo, la herramienta del Gobierno”. Actualmente está trabajando en un documental sobre el origen de la nueva formación polítca Podemos

EDUARDO LÓPEZ-JAMAR ( Madrid, 08/03/1978) Es periodista. Ha trabajado en varios medios de comunicación de prensa escrita, radio y televisión. Es autor del corto documental ‘Verano de 2012’, autor del libro de fotografía ‘Próxima salida’ y codirector y coguionista del documental ‘Un lugar diferente’

RAFAEL GONZALEZ ( SPAIN , 1978/01/06 )began his audiovisual career as a journalist for the Spanish news network CNN+. For 4 years he reported on Spanish national politics but his desire to tell news in an unhurried way led him to delve into the world of documentaries. His first opportunity presented itself in Guinea Bissau where he made a documentary report for the International Cooperation Agency, an experience he later repeated in Cambodia and Laos. Later, once he was already integrated with the production team at 360 Global Media, he directed the documentary “Fear: the tool of the government”. He is currently working on a documentary about the origin of the new Spanish political party Podemos.

EDUARDO LÓPEZ-JAMAR ( SPAIN, 1978/08/03) is a journalist. He has worked in various media outlets encompassing print journalism, radio and television broadcasting. He wrote the short documentary ‘Summer of 2012’, authored the photography book ‘Next Exit’ and co-directed and co-wrote the documentary ‘A different place’
