The Dialogue follows four American and four Chinese college students as they travel together through Southwest China and Hong Kong. Together the film characters explore each others personal backgrounds and discover cross-cultural skills. Their shared travel adventures, emotions of culture shock and honest confrontations become doorways to deepen their understanding of the world, of themselves and of each other.

ARND WÄCHTER (Germany 10/05/1970) was born in communist East Germany and grew up next to the Berlin Wall. Two decades of living abroad grew his awareness for the transformative power of cross-cultural interactions and inspired him to create the charity Crossing Borders Education. As a creative response to 9/11 Arnd hired a professional film crew and produced the feature documentary “Crossing Borders” about the frank interactions of four American and four Moroccan students. Experiencing the success of “Crossing Borders” grew his vision and strategy for the Crossing Borders Films trilogy and the concept for the creative partnership with National Geographic Education.Arnd is the director/producer of the intercultural trilogy by Crossing Borders Films Crossing Borders (2010), The Dialogue (2013), American Textures (2014).
