Tras la controvertida extradición a Estados Unidos del narcotraficante Christopher "Dudus" Coke, el caos se ha apoderado de los barrios que éste controlaba al oeste de Kingston, Jamaica. Bandas de adolescentes se matan por cualquier motivo, por pequeño y ridículo que sea, fomentando una cultura de violencia que asocia la hombría a las armas. Un grupo de exgangsters de Denham Town, bastión previo de "Dudus", se ha unido para convertirse en interruptores de la violencia, un tipo de mediadores que intenta poner fin a este conflicto sin sentido.

After the controversial extradition to the U.S of the famous druglord Christopher "Dudus" Coke, chaos reigns in his former areas of control in West Kingston, Jamaica. Bands of teenagers kill each other for any little reason. Although violence in Jamaica is always portrayed as drug related, this film unveils a real truth which links a culture of violence to masculinity and shooting guns. Most of the young people from the ghetto don´t even know why they kill each other but they are trapped in this cycle of violence. Former gangsters from Denham Town, Dudu´s previous stronghold, have become violence interrupters, a type of mediators who attempt to put an end to this nonsense situation.

Comenzó su carrera como periodista en diferentes medios de comunicación, hasta que debutó en 2005 con el documental "Una vida por delante". Desde entonces, ha escrito y dirigido una decena de documentales para cine y televisión, entre ellos "Songs of Redemption", multipremiado en festivales de cine, "Frágiles" y "Vente a Las Vegas, nena!". Vive entre Barcelona y Jamaica. "Last Street" es el cuarto documental que rueda en la isla.

AMANDA SANS PANTLING (Barcelona, SPAIN, 1973) is a director, screenwriter and producer working in the field of creative documentary .Based between Jamaica and Barcelona (Spain) she began her career as a journalist in different media, until she debuted in 2005 with the documentary "Una vida por delante". Since then she has written and directed a number of documentaries for film and television, among them "Songs of Redemption", with multiple awards at film festivals. She is specialized in exploring the Jamaican culture and society. "Last Street" is her fourth film shot in Jamaica.
