This short film tells the secret origin of the rain. Why it rains. A bird of prey has an unexpected encounter between the clouds.

ELIO QUIROGA (Las Palmas, ESPAÑA, 1965) es ingeniero informático. Debutó en el cine en 1997 con la surrealista película "Fotos", premio al Mejor Guión y Mención Especial del Jurado en el Festival de Sitges, y que despertó la admiración de cineastas como Quentin Tarantino. Fue nominado al Goya al Mejor Corto Documental en 2004 por "El Último Minutero". Ha dirigido también cortometrajes de animación, tales como "Me llamo María" (2010) o "Home Delivery" (2006), con producción de Guillermo del Toro y música de REM. También ha escrito y dirigido otros largometrajes posteriormente: "La Hora Fría" (2007) y "No-Do" (2009. Su cuarto largometraje, el documental “The Mystery of the King of Kinema” (2014), Obtuvo una Mención Especial del Jurado en la Sección Oficial Competitiva en el Festival de Cine de Gijón 2014 y el Platinum Award del Film Cometition de Yakarta. En mayo de 2019 estrena su quinto largometraje, “La estrategia del pequinés”.

ELIO QUIROGA (Las Palmas, SPAIN, 1965) studied Computer Science Engineering. Quiroga directed the controversial feature film Fotos which was awarded Best Script and the Jury’s Special Award at the Sitges International Film Festival in 1997, where it was enthusiastically praised by Quentin Tarantino. He has directed and produced also the short animated film “Home Delivery” and “No-Do”, a horror movie sold to 40 territories was his third film as director, after the sci-fi “La Hora Fria”. As screenwriter, he is cowriter of “Ausentes”, a horror film directed by Daniel Calparsoro. His animated short film “Me llamo María” was selected for the Short List in the Oscars 2011. His 4th feature, documentary “The Mystery of the King of Kinema” won Special Mention of the Jury in the 2014 Gijón Film Festival and the 2016 Platinum Award in the Yakarta IFCOM. His 5th freature “La estrategia del pequinés” adapts noir best selling novel by Alexis Ravelo, and is was released in Spain in may 2019.
