Sinopsis / Synopsis

Xiao Qiang es un travieso niño que vive en un pueblo del sureste de China. Su deseo de libertad le lleva a vivir una aventura que cambiará su vida.

Xiao Qiang is a mischievous child who lives in a town in southeastern China. His desire for freedom leads him to live an adventure that will change his life.

Xisi Sofia Ye Chen (Barcelona, 1994). Hija de inmigrantes chinos que se instalan en Barcelona durante los años posolímpicos, es educada en qingtianés, mandarín, catalán y español. Abraza el mestizaje cultural y desde él busca construir narrativas personales con el cine y el teatro. Xiao Qiang es su primer cortometraje, una exploración fabulada de la región natal de sus padres.

Xisi Sofia Ye Chen (Barcelona, 1994). As a daughter of Chinese immigrants that settled in Barcelona during the post-Olympic years, she was raised in Qingtianese, Mandarin, Catalan, and Spanish. Accepting cultural miscegenation as a condition, she seeks for personal narratives through the humanities, theatre, and cinema. Xiao Qiang had a daydream, as her first short film, is the fabulated exploration of her family’s hometown.
